Basketball Challenge
This is an awesome activity to increase student engagement during speech-language therapy and/or small group sessions for all academic subjects. This basketball challenge should be paired with specific skills that you desire to target with your students. These may include practice with speech articulation drills, multiple meaning words, using context clues to decipher meaning, naming synonyms/antonyms, or common core curriculum standards questions for any subject area. I have successfully used this learning game with my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade English/Language Arts Common Core Standards Vocabulary questions (see my TPT Store). My students were eager to participate by selecting their basketball player, a team name, and then taking turns answering questions for their team so that they could take a shot. They were very competitive and were excited to see who would win the most basketball and/or learning points. I hope your students enjoy this resource as much as mine have!
